Otoplasty (Prominent Ear Correction)
Prominent ears can be improved in both children and adults with a surgery called otoplasty. Sometimes referred to “pinning-back” of the ears, this procedure works by recreating a more natural anatomy of the ear, creating a more natural shape and bringing proportion and balance to the ears and face.
Dr. Stanley Harper performs otoplasty to improve the shape, proportion, and position of the ears.
Otoplasty: Who’s a Good Fit?
Ideal candidates are patients who are healthy, nonsmokers, and have realistic expectations and a positive outlook. Children are also frequently good candidates, and of course need to be healthy. Additionally, it is helpful to wait for a child to be at an age where they are cooperative and can follow directions.
What to Expect:
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Incisions are typically hidden behind the ear, and are generally not visible after healing is complete. Schedule an otoplasty consultation today at (317) 399-4567 or by filling out the consultation form below.
